Taking Action for More Responsible Tourism
Understanding Our Impact to Take Better Action
Being a key player in outdoor tourism also means taking responsibility for the natural areas, people, and regions that make vacations possible.
To take concrete and sustainable action, we are gradually structuring our approach around three key priorities: preserving natural areas, placing people and communities at the heart of our efforts, and ensuring the long-term effectiveness of our approach.
Our carbon footprint: the starting point for our initiative

In 2025, the completion of our first carbon footprint assessment marked a milestone. It enabled us to identify our key challenges and define a roadmap leading up to 2030.
1. Preserve natural areas
Our campsites come to life in the heart of remarkable natural settings. Preserving these areas is an integral part of our approach to outdoor tourism.
How We Measure Our Progress
- Water Consumption
- Energy Consumption
- Waste Management
- Biodiversity
- Environmental Certification Process
Our Initiatives
- Monitor and reduce water and energy consumption through optimized management
- Develop more energy-efficient solutions and choose equipment that is more environmentally friendly
- Preserving biodiversity through actions tailored to the specific characteristics of each site.
- Improve waste collection, reduction, and recycling.
- Optimize our waste management by improving collection and recycling and reducing our waste volume
- Reduce the volume of waste by optimizing recycling and collection.
- Expand environmental certification programs, such as Clé Verte, to the majority of our campsites.

2. Supporting People and the Region
Vacations are, above all, about connections—not only between our employees and our guests, but also with the local producers, artisans, partners, and community members who make each destination so special.
That is why we are committed to supporting our teams in developing their skills, offering vacations that are accessible to as many people as possible, and contributing to the vitality of the communities that welcome us.

3. Steer our approach over the long term
It is based on a philosophy of continuous improvement centered on one goal: to gradually reduce our CO2 emissions by 5% per year (excluding passenger travel). Our approach is supported by management tools, monitoring indicators, and a roadmap that enable us to measure our progress and sustainably support the development of the Ciela Village Group.
Our approach evolves season after season, in step with the challenges of our business and the regions that host us. Measuring, taking action, and making sustainable progress: this is how we are building a more responsible tourism industry.
