I used to come to this campsite 25 years ago and it is the same as I remembered just with a lot more slides and better accommodation. We enjoyed so much we have already booked for next year on the same week. I feel that the bar/restaurant wasn’t open long enough, maybe consider opening in the mornings with croissants and coffees? As were we’re going off site every morning to get these, and opening earlier for evening meals maybe around 5pm? The staff were amazing!!!… also maybe consider hire out mobile AC units this would get you more revenue and also make the stay comfortable in the extreme heats.

A campsite in the Pays de la Loire guarantees moments of calm in the heart of nature before diving into a day full of activities by the pool or on the fine sands of the Atlantic.

Dive into the heart of our exceptional water park in the Pays de la Loire region

The beating heart of Camping Le Chaponnet is undoubtedly its water park. A true oasis of coolness, this space dedicated to water and relaxation is designed to delight young and old alike. With a heated indoor pool, you can swim year-round—a real plus for a vacation in Brem-sur-Mer, especially since temperatures can still be a bit chilly when a light breeze blows. Outside, under the radiant sunshine of the Pays de la Loire region, enjoy the outdoor pool, where the water is always at the perfect temperature.

For thrill-seekers, spectacular slides promise memorable bursts of laughter, while little ones can play safely in a fun wading pool and splash around in the many water features. If you need to unwind, the water park also features a lovely sun deck, perfect for reading a book, working on your tan, or simply taking a quick nap in the shade of a beach umbrella, lulled by the relaxing atmosphere of our campsite with water park. For total relaxation, a wellness area with a sauna and steam room is at your disposal, turning your stay into a true rejuvenating experience.

The campsite’s water park is a must-visit hub of activity during your vacation. In addition to swimming, a variety of fun and athletic activities are offered for some great times right by the water. People come here just as much for the swimming as for the chance to socialize and meet other vacationers who’ve come to explore the Vendée. The water park is just a few steps from the accommodations, so you can easily come and go as you please at any time of day. It’s one of the simple pleasures of a campsite: being able to go from your bed to the blue water in just a few minutes, without any hassle.

What to Do on a Campsite Vacation in the Pays de la Loire?

The strength of the Pays de la Loire region is that you’re never bored there, thanks to its immense diversity and richness. On one side, you have the Loire, that magnificent river that winds through the region’s landscapes and runs alongside the famous châteaux of the Loire Valley, symbols of French heritage. On the other, you have the Vendée coast, with its waves and vast beaches of fine sand that stretch as far as the eye can see along the ocean.

When you stay at the 4-star Le Chaponnet campsite, a wide variety of activities await you just outside the campsite grounds. The ocean is just a few minutes away—perfect for long walks at sunset or afternoons of total relaxation. It’s the ideal place to reconnect with nature.

The Vendée is a true land of adventure. You can’t visit here without taking a trip to one of the islands. Whether you choose Île d’Yeu for its untamed beauty or Noirmoutier for the Passage du Gois, you’re in for a visual treat. If you’re more of a history buff, head to Maine-et-Loire to explore a castle or discover the famous Puy du Fou. This theme park, located in the Loire Valley, offers spectacular immersive shows inspired by different eras for a day that feels like stepping back in time—a delight for the whole family, young and old alike.

For a dose of culture and fun, the city of Nantes and its Machines de l’Île are also worth a visit. In La Roche-sur-Yon, too, you can discover mechanical animals on Place Napoléon—a guaranteed hit with the whole family during your stay at a campsite.

Back on the Atlantic coast, the ports of Les Sables-d’Olonne and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie invite you to enjoy an ice cream or a seafood platter. Whether you’re looking for sports activities like surfing and sailing at Les Dunes Beach or a bike ride along the must-see Vélodysée, every landscape in the region will surprise you. The Loire River also offers unforgettable canoeing trips.

If you enjoy walking, the customs officers’ trail that runs along the coast offers incredible views of the Atlantic, as does the Parcours des Vignes de Brem.

For families, the Parc des Dunes or the Sables-d’Olonne Zoo are sure bets. If you’d like to get a bird’s-eye view, the Pointe des Corbeaux lighthouse on Île d’Yeu offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the ocean. Every corner of the Pays de la Loire region holds a treasure—a hidden old castle, a secret beach, or a renowned vineyard. It’s this richness that makes camping at a campsite in the Vendée such a well-rounded experience. You can go from a picturesque fishing port to the grandeur of a royal castle in less than an hour’s drive.

Between dips in the pool or the ocean, it’s impossible not to fall in love with the local cuisine—a true journey for your taste buds! On the menu for your campsite vacation: the famous sardines from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, fresh oysters from the Vendée, or the traditional jambon-mojettes (local white beans). For those with a sweet tooth, Vendée brioche is a breakfast must-try. And of course, don’t forget the famous préfou—that garlic-and-butter bread—perfect for sharing with friends during happy hour on the terrace of your mobile home!
